35 Years

So this weekend, we were happy to attend my in-laws 35th wedding anniversary. They had all the family there, and they renewed their vows, it was lovely. Luckily my mother in law is pretty laid back, "she didn't really care how the kids behaved, she just wanted them up there." So my kids decided they would put it to the test:)

First of all Mr. C was violently ill, no problem, I was prepared with extra pull ups, and a doggie bag (we used both). As you can see in the picture above, that was the best smile he could muster.

Cotton walked nicely down the isle with his aunt and when he got to the alter and saw the candles he immediately started grunting the "Happy Birthday Song." I secretly thought this was adorable, and let him finish before I shhhed him. I held Rev, who thought my low cut wrap dress was fascinating... exposing more of me than I intended. I think I made the day of some very old very myopic men (that's the best I can do after nursing 3).

We ate cake (except Mr. C) We laughed, and we loaded in the car for the 7 (make that 9 with kids) hour drive home. Well, we were suppose to stop halfway, but...... We ran into some terrible thunderstorms. You know thunder, lighting, zero visibility, anyone else would have stopped. But, I think my husband saw this as a challenge. So, of course we drove the whole way home. Because, and I am not really sure why, but when your husband is a pilot and has such and such combat hours, it is better when ones wife does not question the safety of such ventures. At least if we hope to stay married for 35 years!

Yeah, they complain... "I had to land in max winds today. It was awful." but you know they actually love that crap. Glad you made it home in one piece!
